Redcar's seafront location means salt-laden air, strong onshore winds and heavier rainfall — three things that quickly expose poorly built driveways. We've installed resin and block paving across Coatham, Kirkleatham and the newer estates toward Marske Mill Lane, and the lessons are always the same: a deep, well-drained sub-base and the right binder are non-negotiable.
For Redcar properties we specify a UV-stable, aliphatic resin binder (not the cheaper aromatic types that yellow in coastal sun), laid 18mm deep over a permeable Type 3 sub-base. The result is a SuDS-compliant surface that drains straight through, won't fade, and stays weed-free for years. Warm gold and silver-grey blends are the most popular against Redcar's mix of red-brick semis and render frontages.
Recent Redcar driveway projects include: a curved resin sweep with EV-charge cable run off Kirkleatham Lane, a herringbone block-paved double drive with feature uplighting near West Dyke Road, and a combined resin and block paved drive that replaced a tired tarmac plot in a single week.
